A thousand times, NO! Didn’t the SciFi Channel people learn their lesson when they tried this BS with SG-1?!? One of the best things about Eureka has always been the retro-futuristic feel of the credits and now they are using the same abbreviated, title-only mess that SG-1 fans had to rally against. ARGH!
Change it back. Change it back NOW.
Otherwise, good ep!

Thanks to a wonderfully geeky transfer student, I was loaned a well-worn copy of Good Omens this weekend. I’ve been urged by Ben to try out Terry Pratchett, but something about the student’s enthusiastic offering of his book made me break down and read it. Though it’s actually by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, it should count toward Ben’s column, no? For a quick little read, I found it charming. Fortunately, I was able to discard the environmental junk and focus on the humor. I’m lucky that way. I’ll seriously consider reading Hitchhiker’s Guide at some point.
Two more British familial castings I knew nothing about: Lupin (HP) is married to with Chuck (PD). Wow! Also? The Doctor’s daughter, IS The (Fifth) Doctor’s daughter. *head spins*
Hurray for Election Day, even if I have no need of primaries. Being a republican in a democrat state gives me nothing more than a day off work; which I’ll take.
Oh, and the day is made all the better by the SG-1 marathon (of sorts) on Sci-Fi!
How great is it that my least favorite goa’uld is on LOST this week?!? Zipacna tried to snark on Osiris until she (he? heh) threw down the threat of Anubis, making his little rabbit lip quiver. Zippy also tried to take Ska’ara out by defending Klorel in that trial held by by the Tollans, but SG-1 prevailed, of course. Ah, good times. Speaking of SG-1, in the Stargate movie, the really good looking sidekick of Ra is credited as Anubis and was killed by the Stargate team. According to show canon, Anubis had been banished centuries earlier by the System Lords, but the two stories could work together; he could have been like Imhotep, hiding out as a Jaffa, after his “death” and that could explain a) why the System Lords paid him no mind and b) how he was able to live on because of his half ascension. Yep, I need a life.
On a different note, how amazing is James on Survivor? Such the body and a brain now, too. Triumphant, indeed. Well played, James.
[Edit: LOST is sooooo bad. Desmond and crazy Jesus/Manson man have a past. Bwa ha ha ha ha]
It seems my whole “Look at me!” gift post has really caught on; everyone’s doing it these days.
( Here's the 2007 list )
Doctor Who Christmas Special- I’m going to have to go with, um, bad. Didn’t enjoy it much at all. Kylie Minogue was flat and The Doctor had too many messianic moments, especially coming off the whole last Series ender. Sill looking forward to the new Series, though.
Stargate: Ark of Truth (waaay early) was awesome. It felt like a comfortable extended episode and I will be buying it as soon as it hits the shelves in March/April.
Ben and Jesse are slated to attend my first ever New Year’s Party, and I hope they do indeed make it down. Hobbit, Istar, and I have already begun planning a menu. If the guys can’t make it down, there will be lots of food to go around.
I have an abundance of fandom love. I have delved deep into various ’ships, groups, and singularities. With such passion, comes the converse. The fandom hate. Only once before have the two collided; when John and Aeryn became Cameron and Vala. I dealt with it quite well and even embraced both characters and actors. I have a feeling it will NOT be the case this time.

Enough fun, I’m off to work!
