As the week of Dragon*Con approaches, even more guests have been added. FORD! Rainbow is going to be there and I would so love to tell him that his fans still miss him. Here’s the list of who I would have spent my money on, had I gone to D*C 2008:

I need money. I may have to take two more classes afterall, and I want, no, I NEED, to go to Dragon*Con again. In addition to Cliff Simon, I see they’ve just added Ianto from Torchwood. It would be nice to see an actor who’s actually the size of real people and not the “actor” size, which tends to be much, much smaller. I’m not going to go on and on about money troubles, but suffice to say, if I had enough money to spare for D*C, I’d be a very very happy girl.
For the last 12 hours, I’ve had The Lord of The Rings playing. Sure, I’ve taken some time from watching to do housework and watch DW (which was much darker than I’d imagined). Now, a little part of me feels lost. I haven’t watched LOTR in its entirety for quite some time and I’m a little surprised it still moves me just as much as the first time ’round. I guess it’s something that’s just going to stay with me…hopefully, forever.
My, oh my. That phrase keeps popping up, doesn’t it?
Jason Momoa is going to be at Dragon*Con. I am not. Do you see the problem here?!? I considered borrowing the money to attend just to see him. Seriously. Had it been Sean Bean, I would have, but I guess I can live without seeing Jason in the flesh. Jason, flesh, Jason, flesh. Gah! It’s probably best that I don’t go and make an utter fool of myself, a la, Cliff Simon last year. I should try to hang onto that last shred of dignity I’ve been clinging to for so long.
Yes, it’s best that I not attend this year. Be warned, however! I’ll have the money to go next year and should Jason return, I can’t promise I won’t be “that girl” who does something to embarrass herself and everyone around her.

I’m not going to Dragon*Con this year. I’m really bummed about it, but looking at the list of celebs (the main reason I go), there are only a handful I would have wanted to see. As of today, here’s my list of who I wish I could have seen:
LOTR: Sean Astin
Stargate: Alexis Cruz (who never made it last year), Christopher Judge, Michael Shanks, Paul McGillion, Louis Gossett, Jr., and Corin Nemec.
Others: Virginia Hey (though the workshop is too expensive this year) and the few HP stars, who will undoubtedly cancel last minute like last year.
I guess overall, I’m not missing too much and unless the guest list explodes within the next month, I’m not going to feel too badly.
You would think that getting a shipment from White Flower Lei would be enough of a great thing, but you’d be wrong. Having purchased the “Bliss” Soy Candle at Dragon*Con, I was confident I would also love the “Bliss” soap, also handmade by Virginia Hey. After experiencing the amazing meditation workshop by Virginia, I also purchased the “Chill” meditation CD. They arrived today with a lovely handwritten note from Virginia that I may just frame. Hee!
The next great thing happened when I realized that I had received not one, but TWO packages.
bigbenalpha and
indiecowboy sure do know how to turn it out. OMG. No one is a bigger fan of Frankenstein that I am, and my guys are just remarkably great at picking out the perfect gifts. Starting in the upper left hand corner, I’ll describe: “Bliss” soap, “Chill” CD, Frankie cookie jar, Frankie “Trick or Treat” socks, handmade, extraordinarily clever card *loves*, and Frankie dish. (Not pictured because it’s already hanging up, is the cutest Frankie glass windchime in the world)! In no way do I deserve such wonderful things, but I just wanted to say to Ben and Jesse that “YOU ROCK!!”
