Time Marches On

Sep 30, 2006 in:

Thanks so much for the thoughts and prayers, they mean the world to me. For more cheerful things, read on.

So, um, I went to Dad’s house to drop off Cage and caught him watching Laguna Beach. He admitted that he records and watches every episode and we even snarked on the girls together. My dad is soooo weird cool.

Hobbit and Istar are getting along really well. So far there have been no injuries and they seem to love chasing each other around the house. Hobbit seems really happy with him, and that was the whole goal of this experiment. If he can stop biting my toes, I guess we’ll keep him. :jack:

New (and default) theme in honor of October and Halloween. Please welcome Frankie back to the lineup.

For Those

Sep 29, 2006 in:

Sorry for the lack of writing, but there are always reasons. For those of you who pray, send vibes, send wishes, etc., please do so for my brother and his wife. They’ve suffered a setback in their quest to add to their family. We’re all very sad, but I’m sure we’ll be celebrating happiness again soon.

Eureka! Open Letter

Sep 23, 2006 in:

colin.jpgDear Colin Ferguson,

I really like your new show, Eureka. I have two questions for you: Why am I just hearing about you now? and Why are we not having sex yet?

Sincerely, Your newest fan.

Seriously, though, I dvr’d all of Eureka thinking I *might* enjoy it. Over the past two days, I’ve watched all of them, and I am so glad, because it’s a really good show, and Marshall/Sheriff Jack Carter is just *guh* :thud:

Guess What Hobbit Got!

Sep 22, 2006 in:

istar.jpgHobbit got a little brother today! Actually, we’re on a trial basis this weekend to see how well they get along. Hob is my number one priority and if she just can.not. get along with Istar (Quenya for “Wizard”), he’ll have to go back.

Wish us luck!!

Update: Saturday 2:32pm Still no contact between the two, just a bit of hissing and growling from the Spoiled One.

I like this vid. It’s a bit more Pow!Pow! than anything I’ve ever made. It’s still got a good dose of angst, I suppose, but overall, I’d call this a Ronon Action Vid. Hope you like it :)

–I made this vid with Ulead VideoStudio 10 and I really like the changes they’ve made “behind the scenes” on that program. It made vidding this 10x easier!

Stargate Friday

How much did I love SG-1 and SGA last night? Oh, that’s right. Not at all. It’s rare that I don’t like either show’s episode on the same night, but this was definitely one of those times. With so little time left for SG-1, I hope the rest of the season will now focus on the important themes of the show and not the scappy little stuff with the Lucian Alliance. Meanwhile, SGA was just meh with the whole Wraith mindwarp junk.

ER Fun

Sep 16, 2006 in:

I started my workday yesterday as normally as any. Around 8:30am, I got a call from Mom asking me how many pressing tasks I had for the day, to which I answered, “None.” Turns out, Scott was incredibly worried about himself since he had been nauseated for a couple of hours and couldn’t stop vomiting and Mom wanted someone to check on him. So I signed out of work and rushed to his house to see if he was alright. He was resting so I watched TV for a couple of hours and checked on him periodically. After he awoke, we watched The Island and he was feeling decent for a change. After almost two hours, he began vomiting again–violently. Now I’d never seen bile and had no idea it looked like radioactive sludge, but that’s what he had coming up.

I rushed him to the ER and they took him in immediately, which was rather odd, I thought. Normally, non-life threatening conditions are made to wait hours to be seen. I even had to register him while they began treatment. He received an injection to stop the vomiting, and after four attempts to start an IV (he was too dehydrated for them to get a good vein), they gave him two huge bags of fluid via IV drip. Fortunately, the injection allowed him to sleep a bit and the vomiting stopped.

I’m no doctor, but since his bloodwork came back showing no infection, not even a cold, I think his nerves are the reason for all of this. The doctor actually asked him if he’d felt anxious lately. It’s amazing to think that we can worry about things to the point of making ourselves just this sick. Seriously, to anyone still reading this post: Take care of yourself and don’t let your worries spiral out of control, you may just end up in the ER feeling like death.
