Gee, who knew letting the LJ go would be so liberating! I’m back to posting all the nonsense of my life again. Yay!

I bought a lawn mower today. Damn, it’s nicer than my car. I also bought a weed whacker and lots of accessories to go with each of them. Of course, in my novice ways, I broke the weedeater straightaway, but it’s fixable (just not by me). Heh.

New RR/RW challenge starts tonight and we’ll see how the new faces are, though I’m doubting I’ll like it as much as the previous challenges.

Ton of work related tasks to finish this week, starting tomorrow with the bombardment of seniors with all the crap they didn’t complete aleady. Joy. The good news is that I get to hang out with Flo for a little bit, so that will be nice. Throw in some xash13x and it’s a BCHS reunion!

I’m officially a Marshall University graduate student. I believe that with the two classes I’ve already completed, I have only to take 2 or 3 more to have my certification! I knew my Master’s Degree would be useful one day. *whew*

Even though I’m still having my affair with The Doctor, my heart knows exactly what to do. BBC America is showing the Sharpe series, and my heart is aflutter. Even though I have the series on DVD, there’s something serendipitous in watching it on the air. I Sean.

The picture of Hobbit, just another “awww” moment. It’s Memorial Day weekend, and it’s only now that I realize I have less than 3 weeks of work left. We (the counselors) will probably be called in to work an extra week or two, though. Why? To finish scheduling and final transcripts. Now I’ve already finished my part of scheduling, but my cohort, who has a life, hasn’t. I can’t complain too much, though; it is an extra thousand dollars or so.

LOST didn’t really disappoint or wow me, but I’m going to watch next season to see what happens, so I guess they accomplished their goal, eh?

No? Oh. LOST season finale tonight tomorrow night. Whoo, no hoo. Hopefully we can add the hoo once it’s over. The new Real World/ Road Rules Challenge, “Fresh Meat,” isn’t doing it for me yet. I hate newbies. I want to see my old friends that I’ve grown up with, dammit. Top Chef isn’t on tonight, I guess it wraps up next week because it’s.not.Wednesday (note to self: get a clue). Man, I really want to see Harold take that one. Tiffani is a bitch, and she’s just like me, therefore I’m required to hate her. Doctor Who keeps on keeping on, and at the risk of sounding spoilery, DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT. Take characters I love, why don’t you. What do you care if I bawl my eyes out over the little guy. MY Doctor would have been better, I think.

It’s no secret that I hate much of society. Normally, I would teeter on the edge of embolism at the sight of a portable restroom being placed in my backyard. However, the Parks Authority has done just that, and I have proof. But in a strange turn of events, whenever I see it, I don’t see a Port-A-Potty, I see my very own TARDIS. Fandom or idiocy? You decide.

Early Summer colds are the worst. I figure that out of the 8 million people in NYC, I came home with the germs of at least 2/3 of them. Ugh.

Wow, I’ve been back for awhile, but I just didn’t feel like posting, I guess. NYC was unbelievable. xash13x should kick me in the head for not enjoying it more and being downright rude to her for much of the trip. Our students were amazing- taking in the culture and excitement of the city. Our other chaperones were hellish- petty, bitter, condescending, biased, you name it.

“Chicago” put me to sleep. Literally. The theatre it played in was so small that it *has* to be the lower limit of Broadway, but we had orchestra seats, so that was nice. It’s just b.o.r.i.n.g. “Lestat” was by far the more enjoyable production. We saw it in the Palace Theatre and although we were in the nosebleed section, we (students and cool people) loved it. After hearing several tepid reviews, our expectations were lowered, which may be a contributing factor to our appreciation of the play. The sets and costumes were stunning and really inspired our theatre department. I was thrilled to see the kids enjoying it. Damn near moved to tears, even.

I spent some time in The Village, Chinatown, Times Square, Ellis Island, and Liberty Island, and like the kids, I was amazed at just how easily we all integrated into each segment. This trip really opened the eyes of all of us and if we can do it again (without parents and self-righteous adults), I’m all for it. Oh, I almost forgot! When I came home, I learned that my brother is engaged! Her name is Jamie, though I call her James just because it sounds cooler, she teaches school with him, and she has a little boy named Cage. I’m going to be an aunt! In August! Yippee!!

People of New York City: Lock up your children!

Tomorrow, xash13x and I are going to NYC for the weekend. With 40 students. Our role is that of chaparones, which basically means we get a free, all expenses paid trip. The group of students we’re taking is nearly a perfect group to travel with, as they are nice blend of theatre kids, goth kids, and the odd prep or two. We’re seeing two Broadway shows, Chicago and Lestat. After reading the reviews of Lestat, I can’t WAIT to see our kids’ reactions. Oh, it’s going to be gold. I think we’re spending the rest of our time traipsing around the city, but we’ll be in the Village mostly.

Anyone up for some souvenirs? I suck at buying things and have NO IDEA what to buy.
